How to Remove the ECU from Your Sea-Doo Spark
Before you can send your Sea-Doo Spark's ECU in for a reflash, you need to get it out of the ski. The good news is you don't need to pull the top deck to do it, and the whole job takes about 15 minutes with one tool. Here's exactly how our team does it.
What tools do you need?
Just a socket wrench set that includes a 7mm socket. That's it.
How do you remove the ECU?
Step 1: Remove the side flap
Step 2: Disconnect the electrical connector
Step 3: Find the ECU
Step 4: Find the 3 screws holding the ECU to the air box
You'll mostly need to feel around for these by hand rather than relying on sight.
Step 5: Remove the bolts
Go slow here. If you drop one, you'll likely need to pull the top deck just to find it again.
Step 6: Disconnect the plugs from the ECU
Push down on the tab and swivel the plug bracket clockwise to release it, then repeat on the second plug.
Step 7: You're done
That's it, the ECU is out and ready to send in.
What happens once the ECU is out?
With the ECU in hand, you're ready for the 110HP ECU reflash. Print and fill out the reflash form and send it in with your ECU. We turn most reflashes around the same or next business day and ship it straight back to you on a trackable service. If you're ever unsure about a step, our team is happy to talk you through it, just reach out.
Want to see it done on video?
If your Spark still has the top deck on and you need to remove that first, we've also got a video walking through removing the Sea-Doo Spark top deck.
